Lean In & Lean On (Week 1)

This is an unusual time and we are all experiencing unusual things. Let’s work to lean in and focus on doing our best to play our part. Which is hard because it’s such a simple thing to do--stay put. We may need to get uncomfortable and lean on our friends and families like we’ve never done.

A few basics:

Give Yourself Grace. Everyday is not going to be a masterpiece of discipline and routine. It’s ok. You’re going to eat one too many of something and binge through 4 seasons of a show. You are human.

Keep it Simple. Your life will look different and it’s important to remember it’s all temporary. Take it one day or one hour at a time. Breathe. Baby steps.

Keep Connecting. Reach out to family and friends. This can be done by phone, email, texting, and even snail mail! Hey, a lot of us are going to be homebodies for a while so most people will be easy to reach.

Move. You can still go outside and take a walk (keep your distance). Stretch. Run. Play. Movement helps our bodies process all the stress going through our minds.

Virtual office hours: Weekdays from 10 am to 2 pm.

I am still here for everyone! I will be available to call, email or video chat. Contact me through email first. With parent permission students are welcome to schedule group or individual chats. We could talk, play a game, read a story or even meet my puppy, Teddy.

Take care,

Judi Sigler
